The Role

The Media Services Coordinator will serve as a vital point of contact for accredited media at the US Open, working from the Central Media Desk. This individual will be responsible for distributing credentials-related materials, maintaining an organized and professional environment, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the Media Center. The Coordinator will assist members of the press by providing general tournament information and facilitating access to designated services, including parking, lockers, and open workspaces.

 

  • Staff the Central Media Desk during operating hours and provide excellent customer service to all accredited media.
  • Distribute parking passes, locker assignments, and desk/workspace availability to media personnel.
  • Maintain accurate logs of distributed materials and ensure all inventory is tracked and accounted for.
  • Provide up-to-date tournament information and media-specific updates, including match schedules, press conference times, and player availability.
  • Ensure the Media Center remains tidy, professional, and accessible to all working media.
  • Collaborate with other media operations teams to resolve issues or escalate concerns promptly.
    Support overall tournament media operations, including setup and breakdown, as needed.

 

Who You Are 

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional, service-oriented demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using basic office technology (e.g., spreadsheets, email, online systems) for tracking assignments.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and assist high-profile clients with professionalism.
  • Availability to work the full duration of the tournament, including weekends, evenings, and extended hours.

Shifts typically run from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM. During the second week of the main draw, coverage is split between two team members with staggered shifts:

  • Shift A: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Shift B: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Flexibility is required based on tournament needs, with occasional extended hours.
